Abstract

Promoting the deep integration of Chinas outstanding traditional culture into ideological and political education in higher education institutions serves as a crucial mechanism for implementing the Two Integrations, fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and cultivating cultural confidence among young people. The ongoing digital transformation is fundamentally reshaping the modes of cultural transmission and the ways in which young people perceive and engage with the world, thereby opening up entirely new possibilities for empowering ideological and political education with the rich resources of traditional culture. However, the current integration process still faces several practical challenges, including insufficient content transformation, superficial application of digital technologies, fragmented educational scenarios, and outdated evaluation systems that fail to capture the holistic impact of cultural education. Within the context of digital development, higher education institutions should prioritize value-oriented guidance, leverage digital technologies to build an integrated cultural resource platform, innovate classroom teaching paradigms, expand educational scenarios that integrate virtual and real-world elements, strengthen interdisciplinary faculty teams, and refine the comprehensive evaluation mechanism for holistic education. By doing so, institutions can establish a practical system where content, carriers, scenarios, faculty, and support mechanisms work in synergy to ensure that Chinas outstanding traditional culture truly takes root in the minds and hearts of students, while exploring practical pathways to continuously enhance the affinity and effectiveness of ideological and political education in higher education institutions.
