Abstract

This study systematically reviewed the literature on the effects of strength training on lower limb muscles in children and adolescents with cerebral palsy from three online databases. These studies consistently showed that strength training has a positive effect on lower limb muscle volume and strength in children and adolescents with cerebral palsy, although the magnitude of the effect varies by intervention and load. Despite the positive indications, caution is needed in interpreting and comparing the results of these studies due to methodological quality, differences in interventions, and diversity of measures.
