Book Introduction

This study investigates how resource integration can enhance aesthetic education pathways in higher education, with a specific focus on how artistic experience serves as the central medium for developing art literacy. By examining the interplay of educational resources, teaching methods, and experiential design, the research seeks to provide practical strategies for building a more dynamic, inclusive, and effective aesthetic education system in universities.Aesthetic education refers to the cultivation of students’ ability to perceive, appreciate, and create beauty through engagement with the arts and related cultural forms. In higher education, aesthetic education serves not only as a supplement to academic and technical training but as a fundamental dimension of holistic personal development. It enhances emotional intelligence, critical thinking, imagination, and moral sensibility—qualities that are vital in today’s complex and pluralistic world.aesthetic education has gradually received more attention within higher education institutions. However, a gap remains between educational policy intentions and actual teaching practice: Physical spaces ,Human resources, Digital content,Community resources,Resource fragmentation: Unequal accessibility, Outdated facilities and materials, Limited experiential learning. So Teaching Practice Pathways Oriented Toward Artistic Experience will explain the methodology. This research has explored the educational pathway of aesthetic education in higher education from the perspective of resource integration, focusing particularly on enhancing students’ art literacy through artistic experience. Through the analysis of theoretical foundations, current challenges in resource utilization, and experience-oriented teaching practices, the following key conclusions can be drawn:Aesthetic education is an essential component of holistic development in universities, contributing not only to artistic skill, but also to emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, creativity, and personal expression. However, current implementations are often limited by fragmented resources and outdated pedagogical approaches.Artistic experience serves as a core driver of meaningful aesthetic education. It transforms students from passive recipients into active participants, enabling them to perceive, explore, create, and reflect. Experience-based learning aligns closely with the development of art literacy.Resource integration is both a necessity and a strategy. Effective aesthetic education requires the coordination of internal (institutional), external (community and cultural), and digital (technological) resources. Without systematic integration, isolated resources fail to reach their potential in enhancing educational outcomes.Experience-oriented teaching practices—when supported by flexible curriculum design, immersive learning scenarios, interdisciplinary collaboration, and process-focused assessment—can significantly improve the depth and accessibility of aesthetic education for diverse student populations. Thus, the integration of resources and implementation of experience-based pedagogy must go hand-in-hand to realize the full potential of art education in higher education institutions.
