Open Access Policy

All articles published in SOAP journals are immediately available worldwide under an open access license. This ensures that research is disseminated rapidly and without barriers.

  • Free Access: Full-text access to all articles is free and unlimited for everyone.
  • Free Reuse: Published material can be reused freely with proper citation.
  • Supported by APC: Open access is supported by a relatively low Article Processing Charge (APC) paid by authors' institutions or funders.

Meaning of Open Access

In line with the Budapest, Berlin, and Bethesda declarations, SOAP defines open access with the following principles:

No Barriers
Peer-reviewed literature is freely available without subscription or price barriers.
Immediate Release
Literature is immediately released in open access format (no embargo).
Unrestricted Reuse
Material can be reused without permission as long as proper citation is given.

This means all articles (including data, graphics, and supplements) can be linked, indexed, and reused in text mining or blogs free of charge. SOAP believes this enhances interdisciplinary research and provides global access, benefiting researchers in developing countries and the general public.

Advantages for Authors

High Visibility

Freely accessible online to a wide audience. No subscription fees for readers.

Higher Citation Impact

Open access articles tend to be cited more frequently due to their high visibility.

Lower Costs

APCs cover editorial costs and are generally lower than traditional publishing models.

Permissions & Licensing

No special permission is required to reuse any part of an article published by SOAP (including figures and tables).

CC BY License
Any part of the article can be reused without permission as long as the original article is properly cited. Reusing the article does not imply endorsement. Authors may also submit their work to external repositories without restriction.
