Abstract

In the context of the new era, university dormitories have evolved significantly beyond being mere spaces for students' daily life, rest, and basic social interaction. They now serve as vital, multifaceted platforms functioning as "primary social hubs," "second family environments," "third learning spaces," and integral components of the comprehensive "holistic education system." As essential elements of ideological and political education management frameworks within higher education institutions, dormitories increasingly demonstrate their profound educational significance. Their operational rigor, administrative standardization, and cultural atmosphere directly impact students' academic progress, psychological health, and overall personal well-being. Furthermore, the inherent connection between dormitory management and ideological education positions dormitory administration as a critical arena for character development, moral grounding, and core value cultivation among college students. This study systematically examines the intricate relationship between modern dormitory management and ideological education, identifying current structural and practical challenges in dormitory governance. These challenges include inadequate educational integration, insufficient management personnel training, and a lack of innovative cultural engagement. To address these issues, this paper proposes targeted strategic approaches to enhance dormitory management within the overarching framework of ideological education. These comprehensive initiatives aim to foster positive, synergistic interactions between dormitory administration and student development, advance the construction of robust educational infrastructure, and ultimately create an optimal, enriching learning environment that supports the holistic growth of students in contemporary universities.
