Research on the Design of Moral Education Resources in Junior High School English Textbooks from a Constructivist Perspective: A Comparative Analysis of the New and Old Editions of Seventh Grade Textbooks

Since the 2024 edition of the "Compulsory Education Textbook: English", published by the People's Education Press, revised according to the new curriculum standards, was put into use in the compulsory education stage, issues such as how to connect the old and new textbooks and the differences in resources between the old and new textbooks have been widely discussed and debated. Based on constructivist theory, this paper examines the design of moral education resources in the 2024 and 2012 editions of the People's Education Press seventh-grade English textbooks. Furthermore, by comparing texts, this study analyzes the differences in moral education resource design between the old and new textbooks, with the goal of enhancing teaching effectiveness and providing valuable support for innovative instruction, student character development, and textbook improvement.
